Rough-in scope is a handoff, not a guess.

A shared view of when low-voltage work happens, what needs approval, and what belongs in a project-specific agreement.

    01

    Before pricing

    • Share the latest plan set, unit mix, and project location.
    • Identify requested systems, preferred distribution locations, and rough-in milestones.
    • Confirm access, schedule assumptions, and the trade contact for pathway coordination.
    02

    Before rough-in

    • Approve device and outlet locations against the plans.
    • Confirm who provides any sleeves, pathways, or conduit; conduit installation is not assumed as standard low-voltage scope.
    • Coordinate access with the superintendent and other trades.
    03

    Rough-in to handoff

    • Install only the agreed cable and locations during the approved phase.
    • Protect, identify, and organize work as described in the proposal.
    • Agree on any testing, labeling, or as-built documentation before walls close.
    04

    After drywall

    • Trim, termination, active equipment, configuration, and commissioning are separate unless written into scope.
    • Changes to locations or quantities may affect price and timing; review them before proceeding.
    • Record handoffs and outstanding exclusions with the project team.

    Builder / GC

Coordinate site access, current plans, sequencing, and location approvals through the designated project contact.

    Low-voltage contractor

Perform agreed installations and handoffs. Deviations and additional work are reviewed before proceeding.

    Other trades

Pathway or conduit responsibility is assigned during coordination; no trade’s scope is presumed on this page.
